A Pastor's Thoughts on "Race"

I seldom use the term “race,” for if one takes the Bible as literal then there is only one race – the human race. We are all descended from Adam and Eve.  The human chain shrunk to one family at the time of Noah and separated by language at the tower of Babel.  There are various tribes, nations and languages but only one race.  I don’t think the amount of pigment in one’s skin makes us any different as far as humanity is concerned. We are all His offspring and made in His image. We also are a fallen race- since the disaster in the garden of Eden we have been plunged into sin and its consequences.  We all need help, we all need a Savior.

The fact is, the problems of mankind will not be solved by white people of European descent, or by Black people of African descent, or Asian descent or any other.  Our problems can only be solved by a Jew of Heavenly descent.  His name is Jesus.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as a payment for our sins, rose again the third day, ascended into heaven, and one day will return to straighten out the mess of this sin-soaked world.  He is the answer, the only answer.  If we believe in Him our sins our forgiven and our hearts are changed.  If enough hearts are changed then families, communities and nations can change.  Has the change begun with you?  Today would be a good day to turn to Him.
