Fresh Start
Do you ever wish life had a "reset button" and that there was way to reboot the whole thing? We likely would be selective in doing so; some things we would not change and other things we would change if we could. The one thing that does need to change is us. We are not born into the world as we should be and we don't live as we were intended to. But the great news is God offers a fresh start to life no matter where in life you are. This study will restore your hope and joy and may just change your life. I hope you will join us in this study, Sundays at 9:00 am or 11:00 am. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Recharge Video - 2 Years Old!
Two years ago Recharge Video began. As many of you know I had been experimenting with online video since 2009 but finally got serious in 2013. Now two years later, 182 episodes published, thousands of views, followers, shares and likes - I am amazed at the opportunity God has given me! From our micro-studio at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston, West Virginia, to the hearts of people all over the world is a humbling reality and leads me to give God the credit for such an experience. With His help I will continue to connect with those of you I know and those I do not. I hope to deliver fresh doses of encouragement each week to provide a spiritual recharge to you.
I would appreciate your continuing to share the word. Your retweeting, sharing on Facebook, forwarding your e-mail or just telling others about Recharge Video will go along way to grow awareness about this ministry. The best place to send folks is to our main website at www.RechargeVideo.com.
I would also love hearing from you. Leave a comment (you can at the bottom of this blog post) or click "like" when you see a video online and let me know you are out there. Thank you so much for all of your encouragement and feedback. It really helps keep me going.
Blessings,
Jesse Waggoner

Thank You
Here is a copy of my recent "Thank You" letter to the congregation of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. You can read below or listen to the audio version below or with this link.
Dear Friend:
I once served on an advisory board of a national ministry and was asked for input as to how they could improve relationships with supporters. My answer was: you need to contact them for other reasons than simply when it is time to ask for money. I had noticed that every letter and communication was really a fund-raising appeal. Surpisingly they took my suggestion! That encounter has reminded me that even though I have never appealed for gifts from the pulpit or via any other means, I do need to take the time to say "Thank You" for many, many things. So, here goes.
Thank you for welcoming new folks
Growth is always disruptive and and challenging but you have welcomed new folks into our congregation at Mt. Calvary consistently. I cannot tell you how many times I have had new folks say that they were overwhelmed with how friendly this church is. As we have welcomed and loved those that God sends our way we have seen many come to Christ, get baptized and become members of your church. Thank you!
Thank you for your faithfulness
In the nearly five years I have served as your Pastor we have never had a shortage of money to do God's work. Our income has consistently been in excess of our budget and we have, due to our budget, lived within our means. We have renovated many sections of our building, expanded and improved our parking, launched new ministries, supported more missionaries and expanded our staff- all due to your following God in faithful giving. You have also been faithful in serving, worship and so much more. Thank you!
Thank you for your love for the Word of God
When I was called to shepherd this congregation I knew that for more than a century this church had been a place that believed and boldly proclaimed the Word of God. It was my commitment to you teach you the Word of God and lead us all to make its truths part of our lives. I, each week in the pulpit, on the radio, online and in small groups have the priviledge of sharing the Word of God and am blessed to experience your appreciation for and obedience to the Scriptures. Thank you!
Thank you for loving me
Julie and I have been welcomed not only into your church but into your hearts. You have expressed your love and support to us in more ways than I could possibly recount. You have prayed, spoken words of encouragment, rolled up your sleeves, and so much more to show not only your love for our God but for His servants as well. Thank you! I have so much more I could say "Thank you" for but I hope you can hear a little bit of my heart as I seek to thank you for being you. See you Sunday!

Does the Bible Talk About That
I have just recently completed an eight-part Bible study entitled "Does the Bible Talk About That?"
TV shows, movies, magazines, books and the internet are full of strange theories and ideas about issues of the paranormal, extra-terrestrial and life beyond the grave. But just what does the Bible have to say about any of these strange but popular issues? Find out in this study as we find out how the Bible speaks to these fascinating topics. - As promised the complete series is online here:
I would love to hear your comments or questions, thanks for letting me share with you.
Blessings,
Jesse

Christ in You
“…I
became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me
for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages
and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are
the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the
hope of glory.” (Col. 1:25-27)
What
amazing truth – The Lord Jesus Christ lives in believers, if you are a believer
let me restate that… The Lord Jesus Christ lives in you. Think about Who it is that is who lives in
you and what that means for your life…
·
Christ – The anointed One – He was chosen,
promised, provided
·
Christ – The all knowing One- He knows enough to
get you through
·
Christ – The all wise One –He knows what to do
with the information He has
·
Christ – Everywhere One – He is never taken by
surprise
·
Christ – The all loving One – He has the best of
intentions for you
·
Christ-
The all gracious One – He is generous with you
·
Christ – The always with you One – He will never
abandon you.
·
Christ -
The all faithful One – He will never let you down
·
Christ – The sympathetic One – He understands you
Not only is it amazing that HE lives in you. Think about the reality that He lives in
YOU! Think about you for the moment…
·
You the unlikely
·
You the undeserving
·
You the previously unknowing
·
You who have hope through Him
·
You who have a divine hope since it is Him
All of the above brings us to a simple point are you living
and serving as if (for He is) Jesus is within you? I mean really within you? I mean really within you right this
moment? I mean really within you right this
moment and always? I confess I often don’t
but thank you Paul for the reminder from Colossians 1:25-27.

The Stages of Motherhood
(This list is not original - and I have no author to attribute it to)
The Stages
Of Motherhood
Here is a
light hearted presentation of what we all think about our moms, at different
points of our lives. Don't get surprised because we all have the same tendency
towards our mothers!
4 Years Of Age - My Mommy can do anything;
8 Years Of Age - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot
12 Years Of Age -My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 Years Of Age -Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either
16 Years Of Age -Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned
18 Years Of Age -That old woman? She's way out of date
25 Years Of Age -Well, she might know a little bit about it
35 Years Of Age -Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion
45 Years Of Age -Wonder what Mom would have thought about it
65 Years Of Age -Wish, I could talk it over with Mom
